Welcome to the world Aspen Mia!

She's finally here!! Aspen Mia Oliver made it into this world on March 28th, 2012 at 3:11 am and we couldn't be more thrilled! We are finally settled in at home so I figured I would hurry and blog while I could. Aspen came about 4 days early. I had my 39 week checkup on Monday and the doctor said he had a feeling she would be here within the next few days or so. I had the same feeling but I also knew that first time babies don't usually come early or even on time so I didn't want to get my hopes up too much.  But it turned out the doctor was right because around 4:30 in the afternoon the following day, I was in the hospital getting ready to have a baby! The delivery went very smoothly. It was so nice to rest after being numbed up but I just have to say, the actual process of getting the epidural CREEPED me out!! It also made me vomit... I guess there are just pros and cons to everything! I was really lucky to have such an amazing support system in the room with me. They made the entire experience so much more calm and easier than I expected and I'm so so grateful for them!  The actual birth took a little longer than we wanted but finally at 3:11 in the morning, our little angel showed up.  All moms know exactly how I felt the first time I saw her, just completely filled with a million different emotions. Relief, joy, exhaustion.. I was so nervous about having the huge responsibility of raising a child but once she was there on my chest, I felt so calm and, as cheesy as this sounds..., I just got this natural "mother's instinct" and knew that everything would be okay! There's truly no way to describe being a parent until you become one. I feel so blessed to have this little lady and Jorden in my life. When we found out we were pregnant, we knew our lives would be changed forever and it has been the greatest thing to happen to us. She was truly a blessing in disguise! We are so grateful to our family and friends for all of the overflowing love and support. The past 3 days have already been an amazing adventure and I can't wait to share the rest that follow! Here are some pictures from the delivery. Be ready for 233957 more to come! Maybe I'm biased, but I'm pretty obsessed with this perfect child! :D
