50 Days

Yep. 50 days until the wedding and we are freaking out! There is a LOT more to a wedding than I thought so right now we're scrambling trying to get everything together in time. But hey, if all of those "get engaged, get married 2 months later" Utahns can do it, so can we! :D We decided to change the wedding site. It was originally going to be a backyard wedding but as the weather is getting hotter, I realized that it is going to be blazing hot in July and didn't want to worry about weather, bugs and all of the other fun stuff Mother Nature might bring. So after looking at every possible venue in SLC, we finally decided on... The Salt Lake Hardware Building.   And I'm SO happy with it! I love how unique it is and it's been great getting to decorate everything the way we want it to be. And my husband won't complain about how hot he is! haha 

      Aspen is doing great. Still grumpy but I'm just thankful that she's not colicky! I have several girlfriends that have little boys so whenever we meet up for lunch we like to call them "dates" lol The best part about having a girl is I get to dress her up like a little doll! And I've had countless people tell me how lucky I am to be able to actually pin a barrette in her hair.. Here are pictures of some of my favorite outfits.

Happy Friday everyone!! 

Gas Pains.

That's what our newest challenge is.  Seems like everyday, usually around the evening time, Aspen will be totally happy and all of a sudden she'll go from zero to sixty. I'm talking about a full.. on.. screaming.. fit. I assume it's gas pains because she cries and whimpers like she's in pain, pumps her legs up and down and usually toots the whole time she's crying. Haha it would be pretty funny if she didn't look so sad! I bought some simethicone gas drops but they haven't really helped. She also has reflux and it seems to bother her and effect her feeding so the doctor prescribed her some Zantac. I'm very reluctant to give her prescription meds at such a young age so I researched online and there is a product called Colic Calm which is an all natural, FDA approved homeopathic medicine that targets gas and reflux. I think we'll try that and see if it works. If not, I guess the best thing to do is wait for it to pass. Luckily, the screaming doesn't last for too long each night. If she's still crying after we've changed and fed her, I'll usually swaddle her up tight, rock her in my arms and talk to her until the screaming dies down. One good thing is while's usually upset at night, we've been seeing more smiles during the day! She used to only smile while falling asleep but now we see it randomly throughout the day. It makes all of the frustrating, tired nights all worth it!
